Non-Executive Director

Background

TTPi Ltd. was formed in 2017 as a spin-out company from the University of Nottingham to develop, apply and commercialise IP & know-how relating to power electronics. The company has £2m in collaborative research funding as well as global brand customers in key market sectors: Automotive, Industrial, Aerospace and Renewable applications. TTPi is profitable and has ambitious plans to grow through increasing revenue and raising external equity investment.

The company is searching for a commercial Non-Executive Director to support the 2 founding academics, who are also currently acting as Executives.

Responsibilities

This is the opportunity to enhance the commercial elements of a small but growing company in a role with responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Attending board meetings (currently once per month of c. 2 hours)
  • Additional hours of a more hands-on nature, working with the Executive directors. Estimate a day per month.
  • Advising on commercial strategy, product development and fund-raising.

Profile

The successful candidate will be an experienced director with in-depth knowledge of the power electronics industry and the needs of TTPi’s existing and potential customers. You should have an understanding of how to take a product to market and have been integral to the growth of early stage technology companies including hands-on experience of equity fund-raisings.
